Leonhard von Call

Serenade for flute, viola, and guitar, op. 66

This Serenade for flute, viola, and guitar, op. 66, is not available anywhere other than in Hebe, as far as I know.  It has not been published before in our own time. It is really charming, and easy, and very nice for the guitar, even for beginning players, because the guitar often plays a single line in its upper register, as though it were a violin. The guitar isn't just a bass as it often is in this period, but plays an equal role in the musical dialogue with the other instruments.

Anyone looking for agreeable music for guitar with other instruments, with a good part for the guitar, and not too difficult, could try this work.

This Hebe edition reproduces the edition published by T. Mollo in Vienna in c 1808, from a copy in the collection of the late Robert Spencer, by his kind permission. It has parts only (no score).
