Matteo Carcassi (c. 1792-1853)

Carcassi's famous set of Etudes, op. 60, is now available as a printed book from Tecla, and also online in Hebe.

It is a completely new definitive re-engraved edition, newly edited by Brian Jeffery from the original sources.

Matteo Carcassi was an Italian guitarist and composer who spent much of his life in Paris. He wrote a famous Method for the guitar, the 25 Etudes op. 60 which every guitarist still plays, and more than 70 other works most of which are still unpublished today.  His biography (on the Tecla site).

Works by Carcassi available ONLINE here in Hebe (opp. 9, 41 and 69 are as far as I know not available anywhere else):
Trois airs italiens, op. 9
Six Caprices, op. 26 A famous work. (Also available in printed form from Tecla)
Rondoletto sur l’air favori Clic Clac, op. 41
25 Etudes, op. 60 The new 2004 re-engraved edition of these famous studies which every guitarist plays.
25 Etudes, op. 60 Facsimile of the earliest authentic edition (c. 1853), with no modern changes.
Mélange sur les airs favoris du Lac des Fées, op. 69

It will be particularly useful to students to have all the 25 Etudes op. 60 available to download directly online from Hebe.

All are reproduced here from copies in my own collection except for the Trois airs italiens, op. 9, which are from a copy in the collection of the late Robert Spencer, by his kind permission.
