Fernando Sor: Associated Board piecesThe pieces by Sor in Associated Board guitar examinations, all now available online in HebeFirst of all, let us assure all teachers and all students that all these pieces available for downloading from the internet are wholly legal. Some people have asked whether downloading music from the internet is legal. The answer is that yes it is, provided that it is in conformity with the copyright laws, which all Tecla and Hebe publications are. All of Sor's famous studies, lessons and exercises are now available in Hebe, most of them free: that is, the whole of opp. 6, 29, 31, 35, and 60. All of them come from Tecla 101, that is the standard edition of Sor's Complete Studies, Lessons and Exercises edited by Brian Jeffery, all newly edited from the original sources in an authoritative new re-engraved text, with no changes from the original, and with only Sor's own fingering. They can all now be seen online on Hebe and downloaded. Among them are many Sor pieces which are prescribed by the Associated Board in their current (2003) guitar examination syllabus.
